The boots look great and feel very solid. They take a few wears to fully break in, but after then they are as comfortable as slippers.

These chukkas fit basically perfectly. It's not a particularly handshake-y sort of fit but the roominess is both secure and comfortable. I've found Adelante's lasts to be very accommodating for high volume feet, which suits me great.

Aside from a comfortable fit, they also have some kind of foam insole which adds to the comfort. In addition the leather is thin (think dress shoe thin) and supple, only just stiff enough to stand up on its own out of the box, requiring no break-in. There's also a suede strip on the inside around the heel, which is meant to reduce heel slip. A nice little detail.

I ordered the black colorway and it turned out to be a great choice! There's a lot of character to this shoe: the split quarters, the cap toe, the gray contrast stitching, the rich dark brown finish on the midsole and heel stack, the slightly pointed edges of the midsole at the toe, and the white welt stitch. These details and how they came together were what caught my eye, as normally I find chukkas to be very plain. Adelante do offer a plainer chukka for those with more subdued tastes than mine, but this is a really stylish shoe without being too loud. They also packed purple laces in the box in case I wanted to be a little louder -- I might just try them.

Long story short, I'm really happy with these chukkas: I think the style, construction, price point, and the relatively short MTO time makes for a great value.

I’ve had fit issues with other brands, but an email to the company gave me easy to follow instructions to measure my foot and get a perfect fit. The boots are even more beautiful in person than the pictures. Most important, they were comfortable from day one. Zero issues. Can’t wait to order another pair of Adelate’s!

My feet are really wide and I needed 4E. They were the only ones I found online at a reasonable price. I received lots of comments on them, and I liked the pair so much I ordered another pair of the ankle boots. And I styled them using the custom option. Nice job, Adelante

The style of the show is very classic and just right. The quality of the shoes are really good, and with the products that they gave me to maintain the shoes, these shoes are excellent in quality. The only thing I can say is that the back of my foot tends to get a blister after wearing these shoes; however, they are amazing. The setting of the shoes are just great. I believe you should buy these shoes, and don't forget to buy the leather cleaner that will help maintain these shoes for years.

I put on my new Valparaisos and didn't want to take them off! They required no break-in and have drawn many compliments. The measurements of my shoes were taken in NYC and have been perfectly comfortable. I have enjoyed the videos of my shoemaker and his efforts to make the perfect shoe. Love them except too wide at the top. I added another lace hole to help tighten them up.

I bought these boots for my boyfriend's birthday after he sent me a picture of them saying how much he loved them, but wasn't sure if he was going to get them. (I knew he wouldn't buy them for himself.) When they arrived, he was absolutely in love with them! I ordered them slightly wide and he said they fit like a glove.

What a wonderful pair of boots. I own redwings, wolverines, trickers and more. The quality and craftsmanship rivals any other brand. This will not be my only boot from Adelaide shoes. I’ve already given gift cards to friends.

This was my first order from Adelante ... the quality of these shoes are above reproach. If they were $200 more, they'd still be worth the money. My only issue is with the fit; I ordered 7.5W and they're a little too wide. I probably could have fit in a 7.5D or a 7W. The toe box is roomy; the issue for me is the heel area ... a little too loose. I ended up using some inserts. I'll know better on my next order.

Quick break-in period and high quality craftsmanship. One grip: the shoe laces were 3x too long.

This is a terrific boot/shoe/chukka. It's so versatile...elegant lines, but casual as well.

Extremely comfortable no break in time required. I find Adelante shoes run true to size but roomy side. I have a slightly wide foot especially on the right and these boots are very comfortable.
