Custom Made Shoes

A: Custom made shoes are shoes built one pair at a time specifically for your foot measurements and preferences, rather than being mass-produced in a limited range of sizes. At Adelante, every pair is made-to-order for your exact size and width, chosen at checkout. Men's sizes run 4–17 including half sizes, with widths from C (narrow) to EEEEE (extra wide). Women's sizes run 4–15 with widths from A (narrow) to EEE (extra wide).

A: Made-to-order and custom made are often used interchangeably. Technically, bespoke shoes are made entirely from scratch around a custom shoe last. This is highly expensive, rare, and often takes months to complete. Made-to-order shoes like Adelante are built to your specified size and width from a curated set of styles and a broad range of cooresponding shoe lasts, using the same handcraft as bespoke at a fraction of the cost.

A: Yes. Adelante offers split sizing as a standard option — no extra charge. Because every pair is made to order, each shoe is built individually to your specifications. You can choose your left foot size and width independently from your right at checkout by clicking the Custom Design button on any product page.

A: Most retailers and brands do not offer split sizing as a standard option. Nordstrom offers a limited split-shoe service on select styles. Adelante Made-To-Order is one of the few brands that offers split sizing — a different size or width for each foot — as a built-in option on every style, at no extra cost.

A: Men's sizes 4–17 (including all half sizes), widths C through EEEEE. Women's sizes 4–15 (including all half sizes), widths A through EEE. Every size and width is available on every style, with no upcharge.

A: Yes. Wide-width options go far beyond the W offered by some retailers. Women choose from A through EEE; men from C through EEEEE. If you've bought shoes a size too large just to get the width right, you are all too familiar with the painpoint that a full width spectrum solves.

A: Yes. Narrow feet are just as underserved as wide feet. Women can select A width; men C. If standard shoes slip at the heel or gap at the sides, simply choose your narrow width at checkout.

A: Yes. If standard shoes cut into the top of your foot or feel uncomfortably tight across the instep, we can add height to the top of the shoe last — the mold your shoe is built around — to create the extra volume your instep needs. This goes beyond standard checkout sizing and requires a brief virtual fitting. Contact us to schedule one. There is a $50 upcharge for specialty instep accomodations because they requires extra work adjusting shoe lasts.

A: Yes. If you wear specialty insoles or custom orthotics, we can add extra depth to the bottom of the last to accommodate them without affecting the upper fit. This requires a virtual fitting to confirm the correct specification. Contact us to schedule. There is a $50 upcharge for specialty specialty insole and orthotics accommodations because they require extra work adjusting shoe lasts.

A: Yes. Our tall boot styles offer 9 calf width options at checkout. If your calf measurement falls outside those options entirely, we can create new boot patterns built to your exact calf circumference. Custom calf width tall boots require a virtual fitting and carry a $50 upcharge to cover the cost of creating new patterns.

A: Styles start at $195 (moccasins), $245–$295 (sandals and casual styles), $335–$395 (dress shoes, loafers, and boots). Women's tall boots range from $515 to $545. Any size, any width, 9 calf width options for tall boots, and split sizing are included in the base price — no upcharge. Specialty accommodations such as high instep modification, insole depth, or custom calf width for tall boots require a virtual fittingand carry a $50 upcharge.
