    Peter wears a mustache because he is serious, but doesn’t take himself too seriously. He loves all things human, ocean, and travel. Peter’s vision is to scale Adelante’s handmade production and revolutionary impact throughout Latin America. His favorite bit of inspiration? “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

  • Michael Pelzer, Co-Founder and COO

    Mike's flaming red hair is an apt metaphor for his fierce passion in everything he does. He cut his teeth in non-profit management, priding himself in his ability to fix what's broken and lay the groundwork for long-term success. Mike operates under the assumption that there is always room for improvement and is fluent in three languages: English, Spanish, and Excel.

  • Leah Russell, CRO

    After building her career working for Fortune 50 corporations, Leah discovered her true calling with mission-driven start-ups. She is now delighted to spend her days making an impact as part of the Adelante crew. A lover of nature and this awe-inspiring planet, Leah is known for her killer pomegranate ice cream, as well as regularly completing the Saturday New York Times crossword puzzle in less than 15 minutes.

  • Horacio Alvarez, Co-Founder and Production Manager

    Born the son of coffee pickers or “campesinos” in Pastores, Horacio Alvarez began working in his uncle’s boot shop at eight-years-old. He was the first in his family to attend college — he studied psychology at San Carlos University of Guatemala — before returning to Pastores to open Horacio’s Boots, just one block from his childhood home. Horacio loves to travel his beautiful country and read novels by Brazilian author Paulo Coelho.

  • Checho Najera, Operations Manager

    Raised in the US by two immigrant parents, Checho first came on a trip to Guatemala to reconnect with the Latin side of his family, and a two-week trip turned into ten years. His desire is to give back to the country that gave him his parents. It’s the Guatemalan people that makes him love his job at Adelante so much.

  • Andrea Cuevas, Customer Engagement Manager

    Being a fashion enthusiast, dog lover and music fanatic all at the same time are just some of the things that make Andrea who she is. Over the past 15 years she has done just about everything one can do in customer service and retail. She was born in Guatemala and lived in Europe where she was adopted by the Irish for nine years. She's very excited to work at Adelante and ensure everybody gets the boots they want. Oh, also her dogs name is Guajkax which means cow  - he sure looks like one.

  • Lucia Lemus, Accountant and Office Manager

    Lucia is a dynamic 23 year old accountant with a specialization in computation. In addition she studied 2 semesters of social work because of her interest in helping those in need to have a better life. Next year Lucia will begin studying to become a public auditor, when she finishes she wants to enter the world of finance. She loves spending time with her family and 2 year old daughter named Aurora. 

  • Cesar Eduardo Jiménez Loven, Logistics and Fulfillment Specialist

    Cesar was one of Adelante's first employees in Guatemala, starting in 2017. He is currently 21 years old and manages all things logistics. Cesar spends his free time taking photos of the streets of Antigua and flying his drone. Cesar is currently studying law and is working to graduate and begin practicing as soon as he is able. 

  • William Monteroso, Video Team Lead

    Half Costa Rican, born in Guatemala City. After studying video production in Costa Rica, William started working for TV channels and video producers around Costa Rica and Guatemala. After that, he and a friend created their own video production company. He's also an Indie Rock band drummer and is happy to be part of the Adelante Shoes team as a Video Team Lead. 

  • Jose Castro, Video Team Associate

    After shooting concerts throughout Guatemala over the past few years, Jose relocated to Antigua. In 2020, he joined the Adelante team as a content creator where he spends the majority of his days filming the Cobbler to Customer videos and creating content for social media platforms. If you ever visit Antigua, you’re likely to find Jose exploring the colonial streets of Antigua - camera in hand.
