I love this shoe, and especially like it was made by a Guatemalan working hard to support his family. The smell of the leather is wonderful, because it’s so natural. (Note that sizes run a bit big…I would suggest adjusting by at least 1/2 to 3/4.)

I was skeptical because I wasn't familiar with the brand and didn't know anyone who had purchased but when the Luca was part of a flash sale, I decided to take the risk. Shipping was ...confusing, to say the least. I received an order confirmation followed by no correspondence for nearly two weeks. I reached out and was told that due to the volume from that sale, things were backed up. Then I received a shipping confirmation that signaled I'd be receiving my loafers a few days prior to the date I received the email. But they did arrive a few days after that and I am truly impressed with the quality. The color (caramel) matches that shown on the website, the exterior and interior leather quality is outstanding, and the fit is very good. It's slightly snug, but I would expect that from a loafer (unlike Sperry's Gold Cup line which runs at least a full size large).
My only complaint would be that the website image of the toe box appears square on the horizontal while the actual product is much more curved. In profile, the toe box looks more like that of the Tomàs with a distinct curve from tip to seam. This does not affect the comfort in any way but one of the reasons I was interested in the Luca is because of the shape. It's possible that the wrong last was used or that a different last is used now than that which was used when the product images were published. In any case, it's certainly not worth returning as again, the quality and comfort are far superior to what I would have expected given the price. Also, it doesn't appear that they're returnable so I'm stuck even if I did want to return them.
I look forward to purchasing from Adelante again in the future. Five stars for quality and craftsmanship less one for communication and (potentially) outdated images.

Well made and stylish

I love both my other pairs of adelantes. I have a high arched foot and this type of shoe is a challenge. I ordered the x wide, which fit great and the workmanship is excellent. But the strap impedes my arch making them not really wearable for me. But to be clear…. I love the other two styles

Great craftsmanship and very nice leather

Ordered the Luca's in Mahogany and the first pair weren't a great fit. Returned them and reordered with no hassle. The second pair fit like a glove! I love the fact that I could order different size left and right shoes. I'm a long time Allen Edminds wearer and the quality of these shoes is exceptional. You've got a long term customer!!

This is a really incredible shoe. The photos online are an accurate depiction, so no surprises. Like all in the Adelante lineup, there’s an elevated sophistication to the style, while maintaining a refined simplicity. They obviously have confidence in their design and product. Materials are high quality and gain character over time. Simultaneously incredibly comfortable. Just bought my second pair of Adelantes (The Mendoza) and also totally psyched on that one. Not an inexpensive shoe, but I would say worth it.

Craftsmanship is 2nd to none. Very well made. For me, it's a bit too heavy. I guess I got used to the Viento... I have not worn the 2 pairs of Luca's I've purchased. I'd like to exchange them for 2 pairs of Vientos I couldn't do it earlier, I was hospitalized with covid.. Otherwise your product is superb!

Adelante’s customer service is great and I found it really easy to return shoes. The Luca in particular was just incredibly hard to get a good fit. There seemed to be a generous difference in sizes/widths. I went through about 5 iterations of the shoe and ultimately just settled with the last pair in hopes that over time they may stretch out just enough to be really comfortable. The quality of the leather and color is great! If you can find the right size/fit I would highly recommend!

I’m a woman with large feet, and found these on sale during the Earth Day sale event. They didn’t have the women’s size loafers I wanted, so I took a chance on these, and I’m so glad I did!
The first pair I ordered were my normal size (eu42EE) and they were too big. I let Adelente know about the issue, and was able to return them for free, same color, one size smaller, and they’re perfect for me!
So I would say they do tend to run a bit large, so make sure you spend the time to give them your measurements.
The leather is thick and beautiful, the soles are leather with black rubber protectors on the heel and forefoot. They are leather lined and incredibly comfortable! AND they really do look great. A contemporary take on a classic style. I can’t recommend this company enough!

Beautiful shoes in materials, craftsmanship and look. My only concern is the sole makeup, particularly the rubber on bottom is thin and appears may wear out quickly.

I really love this shoe, especially in this color. It was a risk, but turns out it works great with jeans and a jacket or vest, business-casual or just casual. TOP QUALITY build all around. Loved all the feedback during the build and on arrival. What a GREAT buying experience!
